First thing you need to do to get your DNS and DCP servers IP address's is to start a command prompt or MS-DOS prompt, depending on your version of Windows.
Be aware this screenshot is an example and yours may differ slightly depending on your setup and connection type.
Once you have got the command prompt screen, type in ipconfig /all and hit enter. This is what you end up with.

ipconfig /all screen.

If you look in this example for the entry that says DNS servers you will see 127.0.0.1 . Now for most setups you will see at least 2 public IP address's there. It could be more. The reason that you see 127.0.0.1 in this example is because there is another piece of software locally that is doing the DNS lookups instead of windows.

Now if you also look in the list you will see DHCP server with an IP address of 192.168.1.1 and again normally you will see a public IP address, but in this case that is the IP address of a router which is local.

Another address that is important, is the gateway address. In this case the gateway address is 209.254.41.40 .
